The STEADI Initiative was developed by the CDC Injury Center specifically for "healthcare providers who treat older adults who are at risk of falling, or who may have fallen in the past."
Three core elements: Screen, Assess, Intervene.
Falls represent a serious health risk to individuals using hospice or palliative care services. Symptoms can fluctuate day to day, sometimes dramatically, leading to possible loss of strength and balance, misjudgments around functional capacity, and changes to their level of need for assistance.
